When I quoted DailyKos as saying, “Update: All the talk on MSNBC is about who will break it to the Clintons that it’s over,” I didn’t think someone would actually literally be needed to break the news. Ostrich is as ostrich does, I guess.

• Morning Update

The last channel the TV was on was MSNBC so I turned it on before I went to work this morning to learn from Andrea Mitchell that supposedly it was MSBNC, and more likely Chris Matthews’, on air obituary for the Hillary campaign last night that prompted the Clinton camp to schedule an event tonight.

The more interesting thing that Chris Matthews said last night was when he, or maybe it was Russert, said that the night that the Democrat accepts the nomination in Denver, that night is the 40th Anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have A Dream Speech.”

The narrative in the daily papers this morning was simply put, “HIL NEEDS A MIRACLE.”

And via Jay Smooth at Ill Doctrine, who I actually met a few weeks ago in the entrance of a Virgin Megastore, a clip I’m calling, “Your days are just about over.”

Indiana Updates

1:09 AM

MSNBC’s A-Team seems to have signed off. I tried watching CNN, and Wolf Blitzer almost made me vomit. So the B-team, The After Hours MSNBC Team clocks in, led by Dan Abrams, and now, Chuck Todd’s up:

99 % reporting in Indiana:

Clinton 51 % 32 delegates
Obama 49 % 29 delegates

22,109 vote difference

And a new metric has been announced: Hillary Clinton is the “Apparent Winner.”

Rachel Maddow’s bringing that great term of hers, Hillary’s “Post Rational Universe,” up. I have work tomorrow, and would be living in such a universe if I felt losing sleep over the last 1% would make a difference. Good night.

12:52 AM

kos linked to this video, from the underknown comedy Bowfinger, as it’s a pretty funny blip about how the Dems will get back together.

12:42 AM

Nora O’Donnell at MSNBC is listing polling #’s. Still, Clinton voters more apt to vote McCain than Obama voters, if their candidate is not the nominee. Buchanan – somehow – is a voice of reason, says there’s 4 months, an eternity, to heal the divide. Remember, this is stupid Pat Buchanan who’s said that Black Folks Should Love America, No Country Has Treated Them Better.

12:35 AM

95 percent reporting

Clinton 51 % 32 delegates
Obama 49 % 29 delegates

16,609 vote difference

Olbermann reports that HRC post campaign election e-mail doesn’t even ask for cash.

12:25 AM

“If you actually believe in a Post Rational Universe where you can be the candidate.”
- Rachel Maddow on Hillary staying in the election.

12:10 AM

Tim Russert is calling the Democratic Nomination for President of the United States of America for Barack Obama. I’m almost unable to believe it’s true. He’s also saying that HillRod has also cancelled her morning tv show appearances.

Markos, at DailyKos, “The media narrative is clear: It’s over.” & “Update: All the talk on MSNBC is about who will break it to the Clintons that it’s over.”

John Kerry would have made a “Why the long face?” joke work. (Photo Credit to Deadspin)

You could connect Hillary’s support for the sole female horse (filly to you newbies) Eight Belles, which lost to Big Brown, and then was euthanized on the track as a great sports/politics metaphor – which I’ve been doing in my free time whilst conversing with those few who know both subjects – but at this point bringing horse racing into politics is downright stupid. It’s lower-minded than bringing Rev. Wright into this. So, unlike PETA, I’m not going to bash Hillary for her connection to the horse or to racing in general.

I’m going to stay quiet today. I’m just so tired at this point of the campaign and neither side is really blundering in ways that aren’t being covered, except that whole “God bless us rich people,” thing didn’t get a lick of coverage compared to the bitter quote.

I will say though, that if this punch sticks, I’ll be laughing my ass off. I’m seeing H&K 2 with my dad for his birthday tonight, so I won’t be getting home until well after the numbers have come in, thereby saving myself from that period of time where I’d normally be hearing Olbermann and Matthews saying, “Too close to call.”

Either way, this campaign probably won’t be ending this week, and that’s not good for anybody.

CORRECTION: it’s good for McCain, but he’s sold his soul, so there’s nothing inhabiting that rusty old corpse he calls a body.

The Beast

This is Two Boots Pizza’s Bayou Beast Pizza. That’s BBQ Shrimp, Crawfish, Andouille, and a very very generous dousing of Jalapeños. This is the Greatest Least-New-York Pizza Ever. I mean it’s made in New York City, but at first sight, it’s not of the city that’s so prideful of the tomato and cheese lathered disc. Except that it’s true NY in it’s throw everything great onto one surface and hope it’s the sum of it’s greatness and not overweighed by the grease on top mentality, which is what they sell paper towels in those smaller sectioned off pieces for. The grease in that metaphor? New Jersey/Staten Island/Dane Cook fans.

Speaking of Staten Island Grease …

So I went to see Atmophere live in concert at Webster Hall a week before Sunday. What we’re seeing here is what I like to call the destruction of the indie rap show by 13 year old smarmy ass kids. I first saw this at the Little Brother/Brother Ali show. The kid in the center, whose bloody bruise all over his forehead made him a trailer trash Harry Potter, got kicked out of the venue after getting caught smoking a blunt. The girl on his right was almost kicked out with him – she came in with him, I’m pretty sure so why wouldn’t she leave with him? – but about an hour later she was at the front of the show making out with some other ugly disease ridden schmuck. The lesson to be taught to you concert goers reading this: don’t make out with strangers you’ve met at a concert, you don’t know who they came in the door with.

In the category of Least Importance, I’m really annoyed that Last.fm has this horrible tendency to group all of the songs played by the same artist under the most famous white person/band related. I listen to a few tracks off of HNIC 2 by Prodigy of Mobb Deep, and it thinks I’m still rocking to the dbags who gave us Firestarter or Smack My Bitch Up.

• How To Get Un-Caffeinated?

Does anybody know how to un-caffeinate, aside from water?

Further, on the Iron Man tip, SEE IT ALREADY. I can’t get into much detail, because the endings are really what seal the deal for me on this movie giving the Comic Book Franchise movie industry way more life than I thought it had left; but you really need to see it.

You’d have thought that by this point that M.A.D.D. would have become P.A.D.D. by now. I’m not sure what’s stopping that from happening other than guys poker night falling on protest night and an amazingly stupid acronym.

• Hillary: “Rich People, God Bless Us.”

Hillary on Bill O. America, this, this, THIS!, is what an offensive elitist sounds like. I’m going to go throw up, now.

Where Am I?
